ZARA SHIEKH: When Zara Shiekh entered the film industry, there was good feeling about her. Being educated and polished she brought forth a good light to the Film Industry and cast off the stereotypes that had formed about Lollywood. Her first few films were super hit on the box office due to good acting, great sound tracks, and a good story line. One of her films Laaj, which was a period film based on a true story about a hindu girl who falls in love with a Muslim man and is persecuted by her village, is a good example of some of the great work Zara Shiekh has done. Along side acting, Zara is also quite a good model and often models for big names in the fashion industry.
SANA: Sana is considered to be the wise owl of the film industry. A very diplomatic and smart woman, Sana has worked her way up in the film industry. Coming from a extremely poor family Sana initially took on roles that she should not have, just for the sake of money however he pretty looks gained her recognition and she soon became a Lux girl which was quite a accomplishment for someone new to the industry. Her commercial, which was shot in Egypt with the Pyramids of Giza as a backdrop, revealed her true beauty and then there was no stopping Sana. She did ramp shows, photoshoots, TV dramas and countless films which included some very good movies such as Yeh Dil Aap Ka Hua. Her Long Affair with Javaid Shiekh also gained her lots of publicity but she choose to dump Mr Shiekh (Good Riddance) and Marry her fellow Co-Actor.
RESHAM: Resham is an actress who has been around for quite some time. Like many other actresses Resham too comes from a very poor background. After the death of her parents she was shuffled from one siblings house to the next. Having no brother she had to rely on the kindness of her Brother in Laws. Finding a hidden talent in her, on of Resham's Brother In Law brought her to the TV station to audition as an actress. At the age of 13 Resham started acting in Television plays to support herself through school. She was instantly liked because if the lack of good child stars and because of her excellent acting skills. In one drama with Abid Ali, a very senior actor, Resham played a young girl who falls in love with her father's friend. Her acting was so well liked in that drama that after that the sky was the Limit for Resham. Resham is also known as one of the most well dressed Lollywood actresses, as said so by countless designers. She also often acts in Television dramas, her recent drama Man-O-Salwa was a super hit.
REEMA KHAN: Reema is also one who has been around for quite a long time. Known for her gorgeous beauty and hair Reema has been conquering hearts for long time. When the film industry was dying, Reema entered at the age of 16 in the late 80's. Initially she was not able to bag leading roles because producers were not sure if a dirty blonde green eyed girl would be successful in Pakistan. However, Reema was well liked by the audience and was soon casted in leading roles. She gave several spectacular performances in films that brought hope that perhaps the film industry could be revived. With the decline of the film industry acting became a 9-5 job for Reema and she signed on many films that were major flops. Reema's success however did not get effected, she was signed on as a LUX girl and was a LUX green and blue girl was several years. Reema also entered the world of Business and C0-owns a restaurant in London. She has also decided to make films and promises to return Lollywood to its glory years. Reema also has had a lot of international recognition. She was on the committee of judges in two international film festivals and she was invited to the Paris art festival and was given a Medal for her efforts in the field of art in Asia. She also worked with French Directors who fell in love with her during the shooting for her Pepsi International commercials.
NOOR: Known as the most well educated and polished actress, Noor entered the film world with a huge bang. Her first Film was with Shaan, Mujhe Chaand Chahiye. The film's plot was original and the soundtrack was very good (copied in several Indian movies). The film was a relief from the Punjabi Gujjar movies and the Public loved Noor. Noor went on to give several performances in big budget movies with good directors and producers but then disappeared from films after marriage. Now she is back with a show on Indus, Uncensored with Noor which has very high ratings. She also models from time to time.
NIRMA: Nirma is also another actress who entered films through Television. Her Drama Serial DO CHAND, in which she plays a girl who falls in love with her mature divorced boss but cant cope with his daughter, was a huge success. Nirma was soon offered films and decided to take on the offer. Nirma has done work that is considerably good.Aik Vaadi, in which she played a poor peasant girl who runs away to the city, is a great example of some of Nirma's excellent work. Nirma has also worked on and off in the Television Industry and was also signed by Lux International as the LUX Purple girl. Recently Nirma made a come back in Drama Serial Sarkar Sahib.
MEERA: The daughter of a school teacher, Meera is probably one of Pakistan's most interesting celebrities. Known for her loud mouth, her extreme sexuality, and her blonde moments, Meera has kept things very entertaining for us. Whatever could be said about her intelligence, one thing is for sure... Meera definitely is good looking. Like Most other actresses, Meera too has worked in both good films and some very "not so good" films. One of her best films, directed by Samina Peerzada, was Inteha. The film starred Humayun Sayed, Meera and Resham as well as newcomer Zahid Khan. The film's plot was excellent and the soundtrack was very melodious. It was an example of the fact that is good producers and directors make good films then even actresses like Meera have great potential. Meera also gained some international recognition when she starred in a Indian movie, not only that but she also bagged several contracts with foreign companies. Her recent work includes Khulay Asmaan Ke Neechay in which her appearance was quite nice.
